What my most successful clients have in common

What my most successful clients have in common

(1-2 minute read)

2011 was the year I first started lifting weights. I was in college at Arizona State. (Yes, it’s a big party school – but aren’t they all?) Anyway, I literally had no idea what I was doing but I did finally understand that lifting weights is how you actually get ‘toned’. During this time of fighting through my fear of the weight room and hoping nobody was watching me while I try to figure things out, I thought about how great it would be to have a trainer show me the ropes of lifting weights so I could achieve the results I wanted with confidence.

But here’s the thing, knowledge and confidence are actually a very small piece of the puzzle when it comes to being successful with your goals. Action is the secret sauce. You see, I literally had it in my head that the simple act of hiring a trainer was going to get me the results I wanted.

Thinking back to my mindset at the time, I was only focused on 1. getting proper direction and 2. getting a certain result. There’s a VERY large gap between the two that I was failing to acknowledge.

Knowledge is only power if you use it. Results are only achievable if you DO THE WORK. Which leads me to sharing what all of my most successful clients have in common:

  1. They understand that I provide the guidance and plan but it’s on them to execute it.
  2. They ask questions! They realize that the more questions they ask, the more empowered they’ll be to make the right choices.
  3. They check in consistently, even on bad or busy weeks. Um, hello, these are the weeks you need coaching THE MOST.
  4. They don’t let one slip up lead to two (the ol snowball effect). They understand that if they just keep going with the plan, one slip up actually won’t matter. Consistency > perfection!
  5. They know that building habits takes time and therefore, getting results takes time. Quick fixes never lead to lasting results.

It’s not rocket science, it’s literally just a matter of doing the work you know you need to do. Your mind actually needs to be your strongest muscle here.

Need someone to help you with a plan, check in with or ask questions to? Don’t forget I’m always here to guide you & I’m also running a free 8 week challenge starting January 21st. This challenge is habit focused, meaning you don’t stop when the 8 weeks is over. It’s meant to help you build the structure and routine you need to be successful long term. Simply reply to this email if you’re ready to make that change!
