Two Most Important Nutrition Tips

( 1-2 MINUTE READ )

Although tracking macros is what I recommend short term when you have a specific goal, what about long term? Macros can’t be the only things that matter! And even if you ARE tracking macros at the moment, hitting #’s is most certainly not the only thing you should be paying attention to.

The two strategies I am about to touch on are two of the the most important things I’ve learned / implemented in my own journey. And the best part is, you can work on these regardless of whether or not you are tracking macros. These are things that will help E V E R Y O N E at any time. So let’s get right to it!

1.BALANCE YOUR MEALS!

I’ve talked about this in MANY newsletters. but if you are new or need a refresher, here’s the deal: If you include a portion of protein, carb, fat and veggie each time you eat, you will stay adequately satiated & energized and therefore reduce cravings & energy crashes. This will allow you do ditch the snacks, feel better throughout the day, stop overeating and crave carbs/sweets so much less! This is simply because balanced meals stabilize your blood sugar. Energy crashes and carb cravings are almost ALWAYS because of dips in blood sugar and occurs when meals aren’t balanced properly. Here are two newsletters that go into this in more detail and give you some ideas for balanced meals!

 2.HONOR YOUR HUNGER & SATIETY!

This takes practice! I find two things very common when it comes to eating habits. First, we finish our plates no matter what. Second, we snack for other reasons than hunger (boredom, habit, stress, etc). The more you can honor your body’s signals by fueling it with the balanced meals it needs AND respecting it’s satiety, the more successful you will be in ANY food scenario. Here is a newsletter I wrote that revolves around increasing mindfulness:

TIPS FOR MINDFUL EATING

When you are truly listening to your body & eating balanced meals, it’s VERY unlikely you’ll eat more than your body needs.

You’ll feel so much better overall
You’ll be able to eat anything you want with confidence of not overdoing it
You’ll have peace around food
You’ll have the knowledge to be successful long term
AND you’ll never have to diet again : )

Take some time to really absorb this information and of course, let me know if you have any questions!
