Non negotiables. Things I KNOW will improve my mood, energy & wellbeing, so I make them happen daily. I don’t question them, I don’t have conversations with myself about whether or not I should I should do them. I make them happen, no matter what. When you know something is going to benefit you, you can’t allow your mind to talk to out of it. Create discipline -> which turns into habit -> and soon enough it’ll be mindless.
Movement: my body and mind feel 100x better when I get movement of some sort in daily. Even just a walk, stretching or yoga flow! Our bodies are meant to stay moving, ‘a body in motion, stays in motion’ right?! Super important to remember, especially as we age. I personally lift weights 4x per week. On the days I am not lifting, I still aim to stay active in some way (usually walking) but like I said, it can be stretching, a yoga flow, dancing in your kitchen, playing with your kids…anything that allows you to move your body!
Water: I feel better, more full between meals and more energized when I drink water consistently. Such a SIMPLE task that many people ignore / underestimate the power of. One huge mistake I see people make when it comes to water is NOT starting their day with it! Many people go right to coffee, which isn’t going to do you any favors when it comes to hydration. Think of it this way, when you are sleeping, you’re obviously not drinking any water. This means that your body is going at least 5-8 (depending on how much sleep you get) hours without any type of hydration. You NEED to replenish that first thing. Not only is it going to help you wake up, it’s going to help get that metabolism running again and help digestion get moving. Water THEN coffee, then more water…all day. Trust me on this one.
Supplements: Opti Greens, Micro Factor & Full Mega. They fill those gaps my body needs to function optimally, increase energy, have glowy skin, strong nails, avoid sickness, decrease bloat, improve digestion & digest/absorb food properly… to name a FEW! Of course, whole foods are ALWAYS first but here’s the deal. My diet sure as heck isn’t perfect, nor to I strive for it to be. This is why these supplements are a non negotiable for me on the daily. I know that during the rare times I’m not fueling my body properly, this line up is going to cover my bases and keep me going in good health. Even on days that are filled with wholesome, nutrient dense foods, I’m still not getting ALL the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, essential fatty acids, digestive enzymes, probiotics, etc. that my body needs to THRIVE! This is how I maintain a strong foundation.
Plan my day the night before: HUGE in preventing my mind from racing at night. I put down on paper everything I need to get done the next day. This way, I can sleep soundly knowing my tasks are there waiting for me in the morning all sorted out. When I don’t do this, it not only occupies my my mind at night but then I also start the next day feeling unorganized and unprepared. Do yourself a favor and take 2 minutes at the end of your work day to plan out the next day. It’s a game changer.
Write down 3 things you are grateful for: This is something I recently started implementing in the past 3 months or so. I can’t begin to explain what a difference it’s made in keeping me grounded in what’s truly important, improving my optimism, attracting positivity and staying hopeful. It’s such a simple task but really helps you see how good life really is. And the more you practice staying focused on the good, the more good that happens : ) It’s especially helpful on those tougher days because it teaches you to always revert back to the positives. This truly trains your mind over time to always see the light, which is an incredibly powerful skill to acquire.
I encourage YOU to start implementing these five things in your daily routine and just see for yourself how much better your mind and body both feel. Such simple but life changing behaviors. If you have questions about anything I mentioned, don’t hesitate to click that reply button!
